Content

You can always try making a call to someone you are close with first (parent, sibling). Think of it as a warm up. Focus on the content of the call. Especially right before pickup. It helps me block out the negative thoughts. A slight pause before talking has helped me to gain composure and not fall apart. This takes practice as there is much urge to talk immediately for fear of the party hanging up.
