Just to be clear, I stuttered all the time but it would get a lot more severe around certain situations, like women I was attracted to and authority figures. A lot of the journaling was simple for my mental health, to get me comfortable with my stutter and understand it to some degree. That stuff was sorta like a mental foundation for improving my anxiety around it, but what helped the stutter for me was practice. I got the chance to do public speaking on several occasions and have stuttered in front of large groups of very patient people who let me finish my presentation, however long it took. I still stutter, but much less severely now. And I do still have some anxiety when talking to new people, but overall I’m the most fluent I’ve been in my life. I’m 31 btw.
