Going to university did wonders for my confidence. I was suddenly in a situation where I had to talk to people I didn't know, and although I was expecting the usual jokes and laughs, I didn't get any. I got one joke when I started my MA, but the guy later apologised after I admitted I held a grudge against him because of it.
