Totally agree. I couldn't ignore it on my own either. I had to get help and support. If you live in the US, I recommend getting involved in the National Stuttering Association. If you're in California, their annual conference is actually tomorrow through the weekend and I recommend it. Other than that, I'd try to find a good SLP who really understands stuttering and knows how to help you work on those things, as well as making stuttering more comfortable. But that does not mean fluent or sound more pretty or any of those things.
