I know it has been said in the post several times, but it is an important point: fuck them. That was a shitty situation, but its not that uncommon. Some people just suck, but fuck them. Don't let the bastards get you down (yes, I know that is easier said than done.). Lots of good advice in this post. I highly recommend speech therapy. It's done wonders for me.
