They basically teach you a new way of speaking, much more slow and methodical. You need to be very deliberate in your attempts to replace your bad habits with this new technique, otherwise you'll revert back to your old ways after therapy ends. If nothing else, it's nice to have someone to vent to who understands your struggle.
