Yeap I’m a stutterer and I’m majoring in biomedical science and my industry is focusing on cancer research. Cancer is an ancient disease and it has no cure until now. Also thousands of people die every day due to cancer. The world understands cancer has a high death rate and therefore, governments would fund the R&D companies to find a cure for cancer. Stuttering on the other hand does not have a high death rate. Nobody dies from being a stutterer. Hence, it isn’t seen as a problem by the government or the public. Almost minimal amount of funding was put into research to cure stuttering. The only way we can get the attention of the government and public is to start an awareness campaign.
