There's a bunch of labs that study the neurological causes of stuttering. It's pretty fascinating. I know that Dr. Ludo Max (University of Washington) and Dr. David Jenson (Washington State University) study the neurophysiological causes of it. I've been in EEG studies with both of them. :)
