Wish everyone was as thoughtful and considerate as you! Tbh every stutterer has their own preference. For example, at work I like being given more responsibility and speaking opportunities. Another stutterer might not. Most stutterers are very open, and get more relaxed when you ask them details about their stutter. I like when people ask me interested questions about it, especially the ones you wrote above ^ I’d just sit down with him one day and ask him exactly what you asked us. Don’t make him feel like an alien when asking, or pity him when he responds, just have a curious mind. The most important tip is to always ask him important questions, don’t speak for him, and be patient and really listen when he replies. Also check your face when you’re being patient, a lot of people don’t realize they have a confused stern look on their face lol. I know it’s harmless but it freaks me out sometimes. Just relax, he’s the same person as everyone else, just needs a couple extra seconds to get the words out☺️
