I'm not entirely sure about the neurology of stuttering but generally the neurological pathways involved in an action (stuttering) are strengthened every time that behaviour is completed. Best example I can think of for this is that musicians with alzheimer's and such can lose so much of their memory, even to the point of forgetting ever even having played an instrument. but sit them in front of their instrument of choice and they can often play close to perfectly. So I don't think that losing the conscious memory of stuttering would make a difference, actually if anything I think you would be hella confused.
