I think the key is to figure out how to just be yourself as a stutterer. For me this meant coming to terms with stuttering being a part of me, and getting more comfortable with stuttering in front of people. I would often preface whatever I was about to say with, “please excuse me, I stutter.” This kind of took the pressure off and made speech easier. Trying to hide a stutter leaves you looking one dimensional. It’s better to be a 3 dimensional stutterer than a one dimensional non stutterer.
