Thank you so much for your message. I'm really sorry you're going through the same thing. I've come to exactly the same conclusion as you. I was diagnosed with ASD at 24 (I'm 32 now), and I truly believe there's a connection with autistic burnout. It still feels under-documented, I'd really love to find more research on the topic. I've gone through stressful periods earlier in life that didn't have a lasting impact on my speech like this. At some point, I feel like the constant need to compensate for our disability just wears us down in the long run. I'm currently waiting for a speech therapy appointment, wait times are quite long where I live, but I'm really looking forward to it. I'm glad it's been helpful for you!
