Yeah, 100% agree. Once you use the disability word, it triggers all kinds of protocols that they have to follow (at least in schools in the USA). So, they'll take it seriously. Good point about retrying speech therapy, even if it hasn't helped that much in the past. I should probably do that, too. I had speech therapy up through high school and it only ever helped marginally. Most of my improvement came as I was in my late 20s and early 30s from getting over (most of) my anxiety about speaking and just being more self-confident.
