Stuttering differences between contexts
Content
Stuttering differences between contexts I've been wondering what stuttering looks like depending on the task I'm performing. For me, I often stutter more when I'm doing something really uncomfortable, but I actually stutter less when doing something that I feel like I'm good at even though it takes a lot of effort. For example, when trying to give an oral presentation that I don't feel prepared for, I usually stutter more, but when I'm playing tennis (something that is physically and mentally taxing but I've practiced for years and am skilled at) I've noticed that I don't stutter at all when I'm talking. Idk if this makes sense but do any of you feel this same way? Or if you feel differently I'm curious to know your experiences! I've always thought that doing a difficult speaking task or a simultaneous and adjacent task would always stimulate more stuttering but I'm realizing that sometimes this might not be the case. Let me know what your experiences are!!
