I agree and relate with all of your points and I’ll add some more. In the work environment it’s like there is this unwritten and unspoken rule where you’re always treated lower on the social hierarchy and intelligence spectrum and it interferes with advancement or leadership opportunities. When discussing subject matter, no matter how well-informed I am, I am always questioned or not taken seriously. I think “regular” people have this subconscious weakness meter where they put us in this “other” category. I have a cousin who also stutters. His case is worse than mine and he has had the same experiences in his workplaces. I’d like to not consider my nominal to moderate stutter as a disability but it is but only in the context where the disability actually lies within the minds of those within my environment.
