Does anyone else find it almost impossible to say one syllable words that start with a vowel?

Does anyone else find it almost impossible to say one syllable words that start with a vowel? Words like "I", "as", "us", "our", "odd" and "art" don't come out. Do you know any trick to make it easier to say them?
