I don’t use the word “cure” bc I still have occasional repetitions, and occasional blocks. But I have the tools to quickly move onto my next sound. I go out of my way to make small talk, easily give special instructions when ordering food, and don’t fear making calls anymore. These results actually improve over time. Before I learned the following, I was havumg multiple blocks per sentence, avoided tons of words/situations, and felt physically and emotionally drained after having to talk. 1. Practice voluntary repetitions in mirror, then to call random stores, then in person. In general, disclose (with useful details) as often as humanly possible! 2. Begin by making eye contact.(if this is hard, it means it will be very helpful in *eventually* helping you feel less shame, which then reduces blocks and avoidance behaviors.) 3. Begin talking slowly and on an *exhale*. 3. Enunciate, or use phrasing while using whatever tone, timing, cadence, volume you want.
