I still do read out loud occasionally because I like to train my voice. I used to have a brittle voice that I hated. Reading aloud boosted my confidence and helped me speak up like a normal person and stop being shy. The stuttering went away when I was 23-24. So, I stopped reading aloud regularly. I sometimes have some dysfluencies but no way as horrible as it was 2 years ago. My favorite type of text for reading aloud are historical and biblical context and I almost always read them with a British accent!!!!
