Honestly man? Lean into it and stop caring how you feel about it. I don't know if you know what the witcher is but to use some character building, the main guy Gerelt magic monster killer for hire and maybe kinda a good guy, yeah he has quirks about him. He got an injury he couldn't heal from properly on his hip or something so now he fights in a certain stance to make it easier on his hip. He can't ride his horse too long because it begins to ache, so he'll walk with it instead sometimes. You got a shit draw of the cards to get a stutter but it's really not that bad. Sucks you have to fight yourself to square 1 where everyone else began, but eh, it's fun, makes you smarter. Decent trade-off for me. It's kind of like negative perks in project zomboid. Work them off if you can, just takes time and introspection as it's happening so you can learn to kill it, piece by piece.
