Yes very true, I’ve accepted that if these devices are here to assist me, I’ll take full advantage of that. At the pre-meeting of my placement I’ll definitely explain to her my situation. It was also comforting to read on my university website that under Australian legislation, mentor teachers must make reasonable adjustments to cater for impairments/additional needs.. so having assistive devices should be allowed.
