Pardon, but let me correct you there: "Your brain" doesn't first hear the message, and then afterwards "you" think/say something. That's a misconception. _You_ hear the message. You're the agent - the organism - and it's you who's performing here. "The brain" (including processes) is part of the whole that is you. - Communication is much more complex in all its intricate details than what this "virtual" case can muster. There are feedback loops involved that you cannot recreate - without going to the actual, real situation. However, this doesn't mean that we can't practice speaking to some extent, or that there's no possible benefit there. At the very least, we can check out what it's like to talk (more or less) fluently. We just shouldn't confuse it with the real thing. :) - This is by and large a conceptual matter, but I think it's important that we conceive of our circumstances properly - lets we fool ourselves into thinking in error about them.
