Stutterers usually hate themselves, they hate their stutter, they hate their own skin. They don't forgive themselves for stuttering. The first thing when a stutterer realizes that they stutter is to find a cure. ACCEPTANCE is the start of undoing that negativity towards stuttering, "I stutter, it is OKAY, I don't need fixing." Now, if it is okay to stutter, and don't need fixing, then your attitude towards talking and interacting totally changes. The questions of "Should I talk because I stutter?" or "What if I stutter?" goes away entirely and the fear and anxiety associated with it. You kind of lose that anxiety/stress towards stuttering, then go about talking as non-stutter would. If your stutter is triggered by anxiety/stress like mine, then you naturally became more fluent.
