For me, there were tricks that *enabled* me to change my mindset. 1. Make many phone calls and do voluntary repetitions, talking as much as possible, while looking at myself in the mirror. 2. Begin conversations with disclosure or voluntary repetitions. 3. Begin speaking while making normal eye contact (avoiding eye contact reminds your brain that you feel ashamed) 4. Begin speaking on a regular size exhale, begin slowly, and enunciate. (Rushing tells your brain that talking is scary)
