Does anyone else feel like people don’t respect you because of your stutter?

Does anyone else feel like people don’t respect you because of your stutter? I feel like most people that I interact with don’t treat me like a grown, respectable man. I hate to have a victim mindset, but I can’t help thinking that it’s caused by the way that I speak. Nobody ever mentions my speech, but it’s easy to tell when someone is being condescending. It feels like I’m a special needs kid always being talked down to and excluded by other adults, and it makes me feel horrible about myself. I mainly feel this way when I’m at work. I could bust my ass and be productive all day, but the second I make one mistake, someone comes to reprimand me and treat me like an idiot. It feels like everyone around me gets empathy and compassion, but me, and it’s exhausting. I’m tired of people making me feel like I’m less of a person and have something wrong with me.
