As per my understanding a SLP is someone who knows how to overcome stuttering right? Isn't that what they're trying to teach the stutterer? So it shouldn't matter if the SLP was also a stutterer, because they ideally should be using their techniques to stop the stuttering. To use an analogy, this would be like a guitar teacher who cannot form chords properly or has trouble playing notes. Name me any other situation where a teacher/master has not mastered the very thing they are attempting to teach.
