I’m a British trained ED doctor currently working in Australia. I’ve stuttered since I learned to talk. The severity varies from mild to contorting-my-face-into-painful-positions-while-trying-to-force-out-my-name. I’ll be candid- it’s a bit of a fucking nightmare sometimes. And I leave some interactions with both patients and colleagues feeling completely inept. Here’s the thing though- doctors are human beings are we’re allowed to have flaws; stuttering just happens to be ours. Hang in there- you’ll get to a point where you’re so focused on the medicine that the stutter will become a side note. Feel free to DM me 😊
