Stuttering and your experience in the work force

Stuttering and your experience in the work force Hi guys. This is more directed to stutterers in the workforce but I am happy to hear college experiences too if you wish. I know that from reading some of the heart breaking messages in this forum, stuttering has stopped you from certain things you pursued in life like career, a partner, social life, etc. Well for me I just graduated school and am looking for a job. I am obviously looking for a job I can be comfortable in (so one where I likely don't have to present information) and also a job I have some sort of skill in, so for the past 4 years I have been doing lots of lab work at school so I figured I should apply to environmental laboratories. Anyways, I was just wondering, has stuttering had a big impact on your contributions to the work force? Did you stay sedentary in a job you could manage but wanted to do something that you have speech fear about? For me personally, my fear around stuttering got so bad I literally got a doctor's note exempting me from presentations in college ... isn't that crazy? It was really beneficial for my mental health and was definitely needed to preserve what mental health I have left though haha. All my life because of the stuttering I hated presentations but never stuttered during one. I did formal presentations all up til a year ago and realized it just wreaks way too much havoc on my mental health with the pressure it comes with as being a stutterer. So again I am just curious, what are your experiences in the workforce while having a stutter? Do you have to do presentations at your work? Can you manage doing speaking at work without too much existential angst from stuttering? Do you have a positive work experience? Do you think your job is suitable for you? Please let me know! :)
