Most people are so unaware of what dysfluency actually is, they have no earthly concept that “forgetting” is a common block avoidance tactic. Most people won’t say it out loud, but I think our unexplained hard blocks (without any noticeable “stutter sounds” do read as us being awkward/confused. The best way to address others inaccurate assumptions is also a great way to decrease blocking - disclosure and or voluntary stuttering.
