Stuttering and Military I'm in AFROTC, and I'm wanting to commission as an AF officer when I graduate, but I do have a stutter. It's not horrible, but it does get bad especially during more intense situations. Like during LLAB, or giving a brief I'm not afraid of actually giving the brief, or leading the flight, etc. My biggest fear is me stuttering in front of everyone. Especially in ROTC where the purpose is to become an Officer which Officer's are supposed to be very confident. When I stutter it shows that I don't have any confidence and I don't know what I'm doing. It makes me look like I'm very stupid. If ROTC doesn't workout, my backup plan is to be a police officer. Do you guy's think I can become an Officer although I struggle with stuttering? Can I be a police officer? How do I try and manage it and work against it?
