I think you and I have a similar stutter. I’m able to hold it generally well most of the time, mostly by acting like I’m trying to think of the next word while I’m really either searching for a new word or just trying to get the word out. I wanted to be a police officer when I was in high school and even took some criminal justice classes, but I always assumed I would never make it because of my stutter. Hearing your story in some ways is very validation for me to know that I may have had a shot. That confidence you have is key, I think. Good for you for not letting it hold you back! I’m glad to hear you were able to still pursue the career you wanted while navigating a stutter, despite the challenges of a stutter.
