I’m so sorry she wasn’t receptive to you. I hope that didn’t deter you in any way. For me, I was denial about it, almost to the point where I refused to let it define me? So even talking about it was out of the question. I guess it’s safe to say there was a level of shame in my case; I hope that makes sense. I think you were/are very brave to talk about it.
