Hey man, yes I can relate to this predicament! I imagine a lot of us can. It's hard because I understand people wanting to talk on the phone, especially if you've met online or on a dating app etc. I also however understand it isn't an easy thing to disclose and I can relate to the anxiety around phone calls. Face to face meetings were generally my preferred method for this exact reason. However if you've met online I get some people can be hesitant to meet you before a phone call, as you could be anyone. Does Facetime or video call have any success for you? Sometimes I can find it easier if the person can see I'm stuttering and doesn't just think I've stopped talking, haha. I find video call easier than a phone call, though I know everyone isn't the same. As for your last point, yes I have and the experience has been an overwhelmingly positive one. Nobody I've disclosed my stammer to has ever had a problem with it - I do it all the time now, for interviews and everything. It makes things a lot easier as people know what to expect, and also my confidence has improved from the "owning it" element. If anyone ever did have a negative reaction to me disclosing my stammer and didn't want to meet me or something, then I'd see it as the trash taking itself out haha. Hope you're doing okay! It's not easy, it's bloody hard and the fact you haven't let it get in the way of making a video on here is a great trait. Good luck with everything and I hope it goes well with the person you're talking about!
