My experience with a speech program and how you might benefit like me I won't be surprised if this gets taken down but this forum is the place I found this information and it changed my life and I would hope the moderators don't take down what I have to say - this definitely isn't advertising and is meant to be an offer of advice and support for people who stutter - I will be infuriated if this gets taken down for promotion. So I'm going to say that in all likelihood, there is no cure to stuttering BUT I firmly believe you can learn to manage your speech particularly for those of you who are like me and only have a mild stutter. If you have a mild stutter and are finding it very difficult to live with your speech, you HAVE to try Lee Lovet's methods to 'curing' stuttering. Seriously, I have been to therapy which NEVER helped and then I tried Lee's methods and I rarely stutter now (I still have fears and sometimes stutter; it's not a cure all program but it truly does help you manage your stuttering occurrences). If you are worried about cost of the program it is significantly cheaper than therapy and 100% worth it AND best of all you get a positive community of stutterers who are all trying to beat it rather than a ton of negativity I often see in this forum. I'm going to bet that many of you wish you could prevent stuttering and it is possible to some degree, your speech will never be perfect but you can learn to get rid of some stuttering. I know some of you have accepted your fate or it doesn't bother you as much as some or maybe you are very cynical and totally unopened to changing which is fine but for those of you who want to learn to actually manage your speech with tricks that sound completely natural try [https://speechanxiety.com/](https://speechanxiety.com/) or read Lee Lovet's "Third Edition: Stuttering and Anxiety Self Cures" book and I think you will really like it. For anyone else who has heard of or taken the program, I would love to hear what you have to say and which crutches work for you! For me I have been in the program for about half a year which is not super long and I have way more to go but I found I reduced my bad stuttering incidences (like huge blocks, or a couple repetitions) to once in every 3 months and am expecting only to continuously improve. It is great and I seriously urge you to give the program a try. Seriously it is better than doing nothing? If you do try the program just remember that some of the tricks or crutches to be used will not necessarily all connect with you. Some may feel weird and you may not want to use them that is fine. You will find the crutches that work for you and you will hopefully succeed! Just on a side note, if you do have a severe stuttering problem, you can try the program it will just take longer and it's just my personal opinion that the program might not help you as you want. I personally have seen many severe stutterers help their speech out over a year or more time but it's obviously not as perfect as you would hope so I think if you have a mild stutter like me you will really benefit from the program. I hope this finds everyone well and I wish you guys the best of luck on your speech journey to fluency. I just want happier people who stutter and I found it in this program. I was in the position of many of you where you constantly look for the cure and this is the closest thing I have seen to it. This program helps manage your speech and is very empathetic.
