I had an abusive childhood and through psychotherapy at the age of 70 became totally fluent! Don't discount the possibility of a traumatic event( I remembered, even) that might have been your triggering event in childhood or later in your life. Medical events have been known to trigger stuttering too. There are many online (free) stuttering support groups on Youtube and Facebook. Go to: Stuttering/stutter on Google, Facebook, and Quora. I'm a member of a new Facebook group: ‘Treatment for Stuttering Support Group’ where medication use is discussed. Other sources are: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjpkZ2GD6EmyfRjvr8oBFt6uz-GmjbfMb There Is help available. Good luck, Sue
