It works by meaning well and getting your hopes up. seriously though, You can't trick your brain permanently, that's why it's called a trick. But I doubt this would work at all. We don't stop stuttering when we sing only because it uses a different process than speech production, it also allows for constant phonation which makes it impossible to block.
