Hello there, I am so incredibly sorry for the things you've had to go through because of other peoples insensitivity. I too have been bullied and laughed at and or sucks. As an introvert, I understand that spontaneous conversations can greatly aggravate a stutter and cause much anxiety. I am a medical student, which means I am constantly put through situations where I am talking- to patients, professors, colleagues, hospital staff etc., usually in a fast-paced high-stress environment, usually conveying important information. I realised that I needed an intervention, so I started speech therapy 3 months back and I am so so glad with the improvement in my speech and my attitude towards conversations in general. I enjoy being in medicine and I realise there are always ways around our impediments! The last month, I got in touch with a Professor who also stutters, it was oddly comforting to see such a confident and smart person unbothered by his stutter. I wish I could go on like that, but I felt the need for speech therapy. All this to say that there are ways to mitigate the situation. I am sure it hurts the most now. I truly think and hope that things look up for you. All the best!
