I stutter at my office job My stutter really affects me at work, I’m an assistant in an office. I can usually avoid stuttering in casual conversation by moving my words around and phrasing things differently. I can’t do that while working because I have to repeat the full name of the person calling to my boss, And it is SO FUCKING EMBARRASSING when the office is dead quiet and I’m stammering on the first letter, everybody can hear me. My boss has been nice about not bringing it up and not making fun of me while I spasm trying to get the name out. I’ve heard other people in the office giggle to themselves when I get a really bad one. I don’t think my stutter is as severe as other people’s, as sometimes I find that I can push past it if I annunciate the word differently or say it slowly. I feel like there are letters that are just hard for me like j, m,n but it’s mostly random... are there any exercises I can do while sitting at my desk?
