But you said employers dont care about if someone stutters. So can you see if you are being rejected (by anything, anyone) EXPLICITLY because you stutter, and these occurences happen every few months, do you see how this can fuck with a person? I think you need to practice empathy. You sound like a boomer who tells people they beed to pull themselves up their bootstraps. It's not about being a victim. You get kicked enough, you become broken. And you go down a spiral. You try therapy, you go to support groups, you go through the drive through the first time, and you feel better about yourself. But then you go the grocery store and the 20 something year old cashier talks to you like a toddler and says, "Use your words" (yea, this happened to me) and you unravel again. You non chalantly throw the victim card, it's not about that. You go through this long enough and you develop PTSD. It's not as simple as, we just THINK we are going to rejected, but in reality noone cares about the stutter. That's categorically false. Dont deny people their experiences and how they feel. (side note; you also allude that we should just avoid verbal roles. Broadcasting, even verbal management roles. That it's justified that we get rejected for those roles. Dont you see the inherent problem with that? Telling people who stutter they cant be certain things and you are better off typing away in some closet somewhere?)
