Just to play devil’s advocate for a moment… is it safe to assume that you believe lying is wrong? Now, have you ever told a lie before? If so, then you aren’t living up to your own standards either, are you? The truth is, none of us do. We all disobey our own rulebooks and do things that _we ourselves_ consider wrong. Does that invalidate everything you or I believe in? Not necessarily (although I agree, it doesn’t make for a very convincing case).
