I let my stutter hold me back professionally and I will tell you one thing- I regret it. My current speech therapist who is a doctor stutters. I look at them and go wow I wonder what I could have been if I didn’t let this hold me back. Also, under the American disabilities act you can speak to a counselor at your school about your rights as a person with a speech impediment. You may be exempt from Presentations. I used to do them after class just in front of the teacher- until I let my speech anxiety hold me back. Now that I’m older, wiser, and more comfortable with my stutter- I regret the day I dropped out of school and let it dictate my future. Keep doing what you’re doing :) I’ve learned a lot in my current speech therapy. Although scary and uncomfortable at first, maybe disclosing before a presentation saying “hey guys listen I stutter so this may take me longer”— I feel like could gain some understanding from your peers. If anyone were to judge you then they’re the assholes not you. I don’t know… Just speaking on my personal experience and opinion. I hope it helps. YOU GOT THIS
