Progress on stuttering my name?

Progress on stuttering my name? So I usually avoid meeting new people simply because I have to introduce myself and I usually stutter my name, therefore making it embarrassing. Today I was at a family friend's house helping setup their TV and 2 of his neighbors/friends walked into the house, unannounced to me, and I had to introduce myself. Without hesitation or thought of it, I said my name with a firm handshake; "Hello, I'm Steven. Nice to meet you!." This wasn't a one off occurrence as it happened an hour later with another one of his friends. Not sure if it was because they were older gentleman and not around my age group, so I didn't have expectations to carry on the encounter as if I'm trying to make a friend or acquaintance or if it was actually progress made. One of my other theories is that maybe I had no prior knowledge of having to be in a social interaction like that so maybe my anxiety didn't make me overthink it like I usually do. Might have to keep trying to make sure it wasn't some magic moment. Thanks for reading! Here's to improving!
