From my experience, you probably have had trouble saying the word once in the past and now you subconsciously fear saying the word because you might stutter again... which is why of course you do. Breathing exercises and speech therapy help, but for me it is desensitization that is the biggest thing. Be open and honest with the fact that you stutter and don't try so hard to hide it. Start using the word and stuttering on it. Don't avoid it. Practice saying the word with your parents, your friends, your dog. In my 30 years of stuttering I had become VERY proficient at scanning ahead in a conversation to flag problematic words. This is exhausting and mentally draining if you're doing it every day. Stutter with confidence the the stuttering will then subside.
