Need opinions on stutterers in movies. So, I rewatched Star Wars episode 8 last night and I noticed that the side character of the "super code breaker" who is payed by Finn and Rose to help them has a stutter. Not only is he a really shady and filthy man but he also betrays Finn and Rose after helping them. Somehow it really upset me to see that of all characters in this movie such an unlikable one is the stutterer. After seeing that I started thinking about stuttering characters in movies, and to be honest, I only came up with professor Quirrel from Harry Potter. Although he is only faking it, he is also the main bad guy in the movie. I am really interested in hearing the opinions of other stutterers on this topic. Does it upset you if you see stuttering people being portrayed as a/the bad guy in movies? Do you know other movies with stuttering characters, or even movies with a stutterer being portrayed as a good person? Thank you all in advance:)
