It's kind of another world. You're in a place with 700 other people who stutter or know about stuttering. It's the only time in your life where you are the majority and stuttering is normal. There are a lot of great workshops, interesting people, and new people who turn into lifelong friends. You'll learn more and get more information from attending a conference than you will from weekly sessions with a therapist; it's immersive. But even if none of that moves you, it's worth it just to know what it's like to be able to speak and stutter and it not be weird or different. Where everyone knows about it and listens to what you have to say and not how you say it. There are a lot of inspiring people there doing great things (lawyers, executives, doctors, military, etc...). I think everyone who stutters owes it to themselves to at least check it out once. I wish I knew about it when I was younger.
