"It's because your brain is faster than your mouth" I wanted to know how you feel about this sentence, because I've received it from several people, and I also see it a lot on the net when we talk about stuttering, but I have the impression that this sentence is just wrong? I mean, I know that stuttering has a very established neurological origin, and I don't deny that, but I feel like people are trying to reassure me by saying "you stutter but it's because you're so smart that your mouth can't keep up" (or the opposite, that it's my mouth that's incredibly slow) and it's getting more and more annoying. So I wanted to know how you feel about this sentence: if it suits you or not, if you feel flattered or reassured, neutral or annoyed when someone says it.
