Oh. My. God. Reading parts of a text from a book is my biggest fear. I'm able to speak quite well face to face (with only one other person) but reading something from a book or flyer etc. still completely destroys me, even then – not even talking about doing it infront of the class. You're expected to say exactly what is written and even if you know a word won't come out you can't even use a synonym for it because that wouldn't match the text. Pure dread. But yes, the one thing that has helped me the most with my stuttering is building confidence. Can be very difficult but works great. The biggest step for me was (well... still working on it) accepting it as part of me and that it's not my fault and that others have absolutely no justified reason to downgrade me ffs :) Thank you for sharing!
