Taking L-Theanine fixes my stutter Background - I'm a 23yo white male, and I've had a stutter since around age 13-14. It's gotten a little easier to manage as I've become more extroverted in the past couple of years, but there are still some things that are really hard for me, like calling out someone's name from far away, or saying names with an L like Lily, or ordering at a really loud/crowded bar. It causes a lot of stress on my life and makes some socializing difficult, especially since you can't tell someone about it without hearing how "you should just get over it". About a month ago I started taking L-Theanine with coffee in the morning to manage the feeling of "having too much coffee", and it's helped me a ton with other stuff. I notice that I've just done/said something that I'd ordinarily feel anxiety about or stutter through. I feel much more confident in my speaking abilities on days that I take it, and it's helped me converse a lot. I'm not saying it's a panacea for stuttering but it's done wonders for me. I'd love to hear about if anyone here has tried it, or gotten similar effects with other nootropics.
