There is still value in rehashing what is known, especially in popular media. Not everyone who could possibly have an interest in the matter has been attentively tuned into the science for over a decade. Articles like this can also be another rallying cry for charitable foundations and research groups seeking more funding. Of course many of us want new results, new possibilities. But I won't begrudge the BBC for writing up another mini-/non-update when that's all there is to report.
