Yes, what you said makes perfect sense. That would be one way in which running could reduce your stutter. I was actually thinking about it myself from a different perspective. More from the physiological side of things. If you’re in the groove of running with your hands swinging by your side and breathing smoothly, to suddenly have your chest and neck tighten up as part of a stutter just seems unnatural and almost physiologically impossible. I suppose it is actually possible, although I imagine that it would throw off your running form. I was wondering if the physical act of running itself might make stuttering less likely to happen. In any case, your experience would indicate that it would be worth trying, especially for people who are in a completely frustrated state and are feeling helpless. Maybe doing something like this could help break the cycle of stuttering for them and help give them some hope.
