It matters in a lot of jobs tbh. If not customer facing, then with your team and supervisors. You can only hope that your team is good with it. ​ I'm a software engineer and I have a very severe stutter and I was rejected from a lot of companies due to this with the main reason being the inability to work in teams. Finally found a company where they let me type what i have to say instead of actually speaking. I've been here for over 2 years now. Definitely had challenges due to this but thankfully my team was supportive. Unfortunately due to this impediment, we have to rely on other people's kindness.
